Long Weekend
Arrival on Thursday evening for dinner at the wonderful Résort in Sovana: dinner, introductions, etc.
Friday: departure around 10:00 a.m. from Sovana toward Proceno, with a picnic in Castell’Ottieri (a beautiful medieval village), arriving in the evening at the Castle of Proceno.
Saturday: usual departure time; we cross the Stridolone River to enter the beautiful Montorio estate (2,500 hectares) and continue toward San Quirico. Here we will enjoy a picnic in the wonderful Etruscan city of Vitozza. In the afternoon, we continue our journey toward the small and charming volcanic Lake Mezzano, where we will spend the night in a beautiful farmhouse.
Sunday: departure for Vitozza (the ancient town of S. Quirico built inside Etruscan tombs, with the remains of a fortress and a Romanesque church, and 200 caves to visit): here we will have a picnic. In the afternoon, we return to Sovana, slowly following the river along a very beautiful path beside an extraordinary Grand Canyon. Return to the starting center, dinner and overnight stay at the Résort.
Monday: after breakfast we say goodbye and… see you soon!
Maximum 10 riders, minimum 4
Hours on horseback: 5–6 per day
4-day horseback trail, 3 of which in the saddle.
Assistance (picnic, luggage transfer, etc.) is guaranteed by another guide with an off-road vehicle.
Picnics are full meals and are served on tables with chairs and everything needed to eat comfortably.
The price includes arrival Thursday evening for dinner and departure Monday morning after breakfast (4 days including 3 on horseback).
